Municipal Wastewater Treatment in Israel’s Dan Region

Innovative Uses of Existing Wastewater Treatment Technology

 

Aquanos successfully used its algae-based wastewater treatment system to treat 25 cubic meters per day of municipal wastewater at the Shafdan wastewater treatment plant in the Dan Region of Israel. Using algae to eliminate the need to use blowers and reducing CAPEX and OPEX by 40-60%, Aquanos was able to demonstrate the ability to remove Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) to the discharge limits while producing valuable biogas and algal biomass in the process.
